Toowong Football Club aims to provide a safe and enjoyable game day experience for all participants with all of our members expected to contribute to the smooth running of matches.

Team responsibilities

Players and parents/carers will assist team officials to carry out these responsibilities on game days.

Before Kick Off

  • Assign a Ground Official (GO) – Must be 18+ and wearing high-vis vest, available in the canteen or referee room
  • Field Set Up – Set up goals and put corner flags out

During the Game

  • Ref Safety & Escorts – GO must escort officials on and off the pitch
  • Manage Spectators – Ensure spectators remain off the fields and behind sideline barriers

After the Game

  • Field Pack Down – Remove and return corner flags to referee room, return goals and lock up.

Note for Miniroos games (U8-12): the Saturday Miniroos Coordinator will act as Ground Official, with teams required to set up and pack down fields (no corner flags required).

All participants must…

  • Respect the decisions of Match Officials and teach children to do the same.
    • Only the captain’ guidelines – In accordance with the Laws of the Game, the only on-field person permitted to approach and engage with a match official is the team captain. The captain may approach the referee respectfully during stoppages to seek clarification on key decisions.
