Pete is our Treasurer and Projects Director, responsible for finances, delivering Club projects and grant applications. Pete is also the interim MPIO.
Previously Pete was the Secretary between 2015 and 2019 has played an important part of driving our female program and our facility improvements.
At one stage his entire family played at the Club, one of only two families that have had all members registered to play at the same time. He coaches several teams and is dedicated to ensuring that people of all ages and abilities get the opportunity to play football.
He started playing at the Club in the “Golden Oldies” Monday social football in 2005 (the name was misleading as it was open for everyone!).
He progressed to the senior team and was part of the inaugural Capital squad, playing goalkeeper for several years before moving to our Masters crew.
During this time Pete became more and more interested in coaching, firstly as a goal keeper coach before transitioning into the full role. He has coached teams of all ages and in 2019 is the Under 11 Komodo team match day coach (his son has followed his steps as a goal keeper) and also continues to assist with the Under 15 Girls team after taking a step back at the end of 2018.
In addition to his efforts with the football side of things he has been very active in modernising the governance of the club and also leading our facilities projects. Since becoming a committee member he has led our dedicated to source some $800,000 in grants delivering:
- Conversion of storage areas into 2 small changing areas
- A second playing field at Dunmore Park
- Additional storm water catchments tanks
- Cafe enclosure and extended grandstand areas (to be delivered)
- Two new female friendly and fully accessible changing rooms
(to be delivered)
Pete stood on the Board of Football Brisbane through 2019 and is actively working to ensure that football continues to grow and develop for kids of all ages and abilities.
In 2020, Pete returned to the Executive in the role of Treasurer.
